On Sat., Dec. 29th it was warm enough that Mom & I went outside during Hudson's morning nap. Since we finally had snow we built our first snowman of the season (*hopefully not our last) and of course I named him Frosty & put a John Deere hat on his head! Here's me with my very own shovel and Frosty:
Note here's a close-up of Frosty prior to Kato eating all the goodies that made up his face! Naughty puppy dog!
On Monday, Dec. 31st we were so excited to have friends over and watch our Cyclones play Tulsa in the Liberty Bowl. Here's Hudson & I all decked out ready to cheer!
While snapping a couple of pictures we thought it would be fun to chase Mom around the ottoman so here's us trying to catch her! Hudson likes this picture as it shows off how well he's getting around by way of cruising. The main reason for me wanting to show off this picture is you can see to the right parts of my new orange sled I picked out and how hooked up to my tractor. I LOVE that it has a string to pull it because I've been using it to hook-up it to my hitch on my tractor (trike) and then Mom helps me load Hudson on the sled & I drag him around the house. It's a pretty funny sight to see!
Here's some of the goodies we put together and of course Mom did it up all football themed with football chocolate covered strawberries to a football cream cheese/peanut butter log to football deviled eggs and even made us Liberty football drink boxes! Although ISU lost 17 to 31 we still enjoyed the company of wonderful friends (*including Alan from San Fransisco).
After our Cyclone party we didn't make it much past 8:30 p.m. so we decided to ring in the New Year the next morning with a fun breakfast and party hats/horns. We got to spend the whole day at home and unfortunately by late afternoon Mom & I went to the doctor and found out I had the flu & strep throat. So much for getting flu shots! Even though Dad & Mom ended up catching it the good news was Hudson stayed healthy. It was nice to spend an extra day at home on the 2nd but it was even better to feel good & return to daycare on the 3rd.
On Friday the 4th Hudson had a big day. First he got another one of his first molars in on the top right side and it was his last day of formula. He's been transitioning to whole milk & on Sat., Jan. 5th he was on whole milk full time! Should also note as of Dec. 28th Hudson has been pacifier free! Stopped cold turkey!
Most of the weekend we just stayed home to rest & heal up but on Sat., Jan. 6th after church we had a special early birthday lunch for Daddy at Grandma & Grandpa Prestegard's. Hudson even got to try his first lemon pie - what faces he made!
On Mon., Jan. 7th we celebrated Dad's birthday with a special dinner and presents. The 7th also marked Hudson taking more table food than baby food. Still prefers the soft stuff but we're trying! On, Dec. 8th Ms. Connie, Hudson's teacher, had the cutest story to share. One of Hudson's baby friends was bouncing up & down in the jumper and Hudson pulled himself up to watch. Every time after his friend would get done taking a turn to jump up & down Hudson would giggle & clap for him. Then the baby would do it again and again, Hudson would be his cheerleader. Ms. Connie said this went on for a good 5 minutes! It must have been fun to watch.
The rest of our week went by fast & on Saturday, Jan. 12th we had our friends the Hansen's over for dinner & a movie. Sunday, Jan. 13th Hudson got another molar in and on Mon., Jan. 14th he transitioned to one a day naps in the afternoon only. He's been a champ at home and it's worked out all week at daycare. On Sat., Jan. 19th we had an awesome play date with the Oswald's and even our friends the Willeck's (Frandle) were in town too! Ava, Gavin & I had a blast running wild and playing together. Today we enjoyed make your own pizza (*yep, I got messy and did mine all by myself) and mini-movie night. I love being little chef and for Christmas Hudson & I even got our own Cars & Hulk aprons. Ever since I love helping Mom more & more in the kitchen. I've started to help cut soft veggies & fruits, stir things by myself and even crack eggs. Best part is eating whatever we make though. Hope everyone is enjoying the New Year and has a great week!
