Prestegard's Drive In Movie Theater

Summer is officially here!  Hudson & I enjoyed our first pudding pop of the summer on June 21st and it was good...note this was Hudson's first popsicle ever!  He refused before as too cold.
On Sat., June 29th we hosted our first ever Prestegard's Drive In Movie Theater!  We invited several families to join us and with busy schedules knew not all could make it however we were happy to welcome the Hansen's, the Oswald's & the Spencer's.  We encouraged everyone to make their own cardboard box car, decorate it and bring along for the show.  We started the afternoon with playing outside, then dinner and then time to set-up for the show.  Here's all 5 kids ready to go:
Now showing - The Incredibles:
Yep, the movie for the night was The Incredibles which surprisingly not many had seen, even though one of my & Daddy's favorites!
Here's the back screen view - don't worry we even had theater type snacks and Ava's Mom even made us cereal/candy necklaces to wear/eat during the show!
After the movie we got to play outside more and even did sparklers!  Here's us older kids (*Hudson & Rex were sleeping!) doing sparklers outside...here we come 4th of July!
It was fun running around and trying to write stuff in the air!
We had a fabulous time and hope everyone else did too!  On Sunday Daddy was gone so Mom took Hudson & I to church all by herself for the first time - a little bit of a challenge!  After church we hosted our annual church picnic with Bishop Quinn and we got to sit with the Spencer's again!  It was a really fun time although missed Daddy!  Today was beautiful so we spent all day outside and was  bummed when we finally had to come in.  Hope next weekend is just as awesome!

A Library Card & Hudson's 1st Movie!

We've had lots of happenings recently - nice & busy!  On Mon., June 17th Hudson finally had his 18th month check-up (*postponed due to surgery).  Found out he's a healthy, growing boy.  Although lots some initial weight after surgery he's on the rebound.  He's up to 34 inches tall - 84% and 30 lbs. - 90%.  On Tues., June 18th after DC we hosted our Little Giants Annual Summer Grill out at Juba's food stand.  Our fundraiser continued to help fund our toddler & big kids playgrounds - we raised enough for shelters!

On Sat., June 22nd Mom, Hudson & I met Anna, Ava & Rex Oswald at the Blue Earth Public Library because apparently when you turn 3 you're old enough for a library card!  Here's me signing my first identification form!
Here's me with my very own library card!
After checking things out Hudson & I went home with some Curious George books, a few truck / construction books and even a dinosaur book.  I could barely get into the care before I had to get them out!  Here's Ava and I with our big check-outs!
Afterwards we all went to Wal-Mart together to get some necessities and the big news of the trip it was my first trip in public with underwear on and no accidents!  I'm happy to report I've gotten better and better at using the potty and the past few weekends I've done nothing but underwear so we decided to take the plunge - I'm a big kid!

We also went to Hudson's first & my second movie!  We went to the Kee Theater for a showing of Monsters University.  I did awesome and Hudson got a little stir crazy towards the end but made it through - oh, he LOVED the popcorn!  Handful after handful (*although Dad would argue he got more on the floor than in his mouth!)
Meanwhile at daycare the past couple of weeks they've been wrapping up putting together our first ever Little Giants Yearbook!  With that came some fun shots including  the two below of me & Hudson:
Here's Hudson & Hudson's latest artwork:
In addition to prepping for the yearbook Hudson has been working on more coloring, as you can see above, even doing some stamping, working on shapes & sorting shapes, and played with play dough for the first time on June 21st!  The biggest news is from today - Hudson has been improving his table manners & graduated from a high chair to a big kids table/chair!

I've been working going potty full time, had a unit on flying (birds, insects, planes & helicopters) and we even did painting in a spiral paint machine!  Next up a unit on 4th of July, independence, fireworks, red, white and blue.

Happy Father's Day Daddy!

Happy Father's Day to the best Daddy ever!
To we celebrated Father's Day with a homemade breakfast by us & Mommy, church, stopping by Grandma/Grandpa Prestegard's to deliver a quick gift, followed by some time at the shop after nap!  Perfect day from my perspective!  In honor of Father's Day we thought we'd share some fun moments from the past couple of weeks.  Above & below is the three of us playing fire fighters on June 9th.
Here's us men doing men work in the yard, with a skid steer of course, on Fri., June 14th!
Brotherly bath time on Sat., June 15th!
After bath we had rough housing men time with Daddy:
And finally, the big day, Sun., June 16th - Father's Day!  Here are some of the presents we made for Daddy:
At DC we made special pencil holders in which we hand painted and even put a picture of Dad & I together on it!  He loved it!
Daddy with his boys:
We are so blessed to have such a good man as our Dad, provider, role model and most importantly our best friend.  We love you Daddy - Happy Father's Day!

Additional happenings this past week:  Mom was in the cities for work on the 11th so we had man time with Dad.  Hudson spent time at Grandma Judy's as he was finally released & first day back to DC on Wed., June 12th!  He had a pretty good day considering he's been gone for 2 weeks.  On Wednesday night we met our friend Jenny (*too bad her daughter Jillian had to stay home) for ice cream at Dairy Queen!  Overall a pretty awesome week.

Again, Happy Father's Day to all those Dads & Grandpas out there.
XOXO, Hayden & Hudson

Baptism of Elise Madilyn

On Sunday, June 9th at 9:00 a.m. our new cousin, Elise Madilyn was baptized at Bethany Lutheran Church in Frost, MN.  Here's the star of the day:
We were so proud to celebrate her day with her and even more proud to contribute.  Mom & Dad are Elise's godparents, Dad did the readings and I even sang with Hannah and a couple of other kids at the front of the church during the service!  We sang "This Little Light of Mine" and "Jesus Loves Me"; good thing we've been practicing lots at home because we did great!  Here's Elise actually being baptized:
Here's the proud family:  Uncle Kyle, cousin Hannah, Auntie Jenni and Elise!  Elise did amazing the entire time; perfectly calm and never made a peep!
Here's Mom & Dad, the godparents, with Uncle Kyle, Auntie Jenni & Elise:
Our entire Prestegard family!
Afterwards we headed to Grandma Judy's house for lunch and cake!  Here's the beautiful cake:
Once lunch was over we had lots of cousin time to play and run around.
We even stole Great Grandpa Omar's walker and made a new toy - note our hats are the arm chair covers!  Yes, we're pretty clever!
It was a perfect, blessed day and we are so happy for Elise and the Larson family.  Can't wait until our next cousin encounter!  Congratulations Elise!

Recovery Time...

This past couple of weeks Mom has been home with Hudson while he's recovered.  We've had some fun times though as we've been blessed with some beautiful weather!  Here's some fun summer shots:
\
Hudson doesn't always remember to sweep the house he also likes to sweep the grass!
On Thurs., June 6th Uncle Jared with puppy Bane came after dinner to stay the night on his way to Waterloo.  We had a ton of fun playing with both of them and wish you could have seen puppy Bane tiring out, now 8 year old Kato!  Yep, Kato celebrated his 8th birthday on May 28th.  Don't worry even with the surgery his birthday didn't get missed - he got a day at the doggy spa!
On Fri., June 7th we got to go to Fairmont to pick up Hudson's new lenses that got scratch a while back from falling on the pavement at church - special lenses take a couple weeks to get here!  Afterwards we picked up some more flowers and helped Mom plant over the weekend.

Friday night Hansen's came over for some pizza and to check on Hudson.  Hudson was still pretty low key but I had a blast playing with Addison and even having some movie time!  Here we are all cuddled up ready to watch!
Up next cousin Elise's baptism!  Can't wait to share all about it.
