Birthday Dinners...

On Friday, Jan. 21st I got to have a Friday at daycare while Mom worked.  It was fun to hang out with my friends for an extra day and get play time in the "big boy" gym.  I'm getting better at cruising and even starting to take a few steps.  They said once I'm walking I get more gym time so I sure am trying!

On Sat., Jan. 22nd the Prestegard/ Larson families met in Mankato, MN to celebrate Dad's & Auntie Jenni's birthdays and Grandma & Grandpa Prestegard's anniversary.  We had dinner at Red Lobster and I got more cheesy biscuits!  Here's me & Auntie Jenni.  It was fun getting to see everyone & play with my cousin Hannah.

Hannah and I met a really nice lady that worked there and she even took a real life lobster out of the tank for us.  The coolest part was she let me pet it!  You'd be surprised but the underside of a lobster is actually really soft and kind of spongy.  I think we must have tickled him a bit because he kept wiggling & moving his legs around when we touched him.  He didn't even smell that fishy.  It was pretty neat.
After dinner we stopped at Hy-Vee to get a few things or as we like to call it contributing to Uncle Jared & Uncle Byron's 401(k)'s!  Dad said it was ok for me to take the car for a spin while Mom was inside.  Here's me at the wheel.  Note I didn't really get to actually go anywhere but it was fun pretending & sending pictures via text to Mom to say "I'm ready"!  I look pretty good don't I?
On Sun., Jan. 23rd we got to see my newest girlfriend, Addison.  We watched play-off football, ate good food and played at the Hansen's.  I love going to there house not just for the company but they have stairs!  I love climbing up and down so that was a fun adventure.  I hope we see them again soon.

So far this week Mom & Dad say I'm testing boundaries but I call it "exploring" or "being inquisitive".  Just because I like to touch stuff they say no to I don't see what the big deal is.  I must say I really enjoy touching it, look to see if they are looking & when they say, "No", I do it again & smile.  They kept help but smile back because they know I'm cute.  Daycare is letting explore though like today, Tues., Jan. 25th, I got to play in the sand table for the first time & loved it.  I even took a couple of steps at home with Dad & Mom tonight.  I walked from Mom to Dad & then back again.  They kept trying for me to do more but I was kinda tired; keep checking I just might again soon!

14 Months!

I'm officially a toddler...
On Mon., Jan. 10th I ended up with pink eye!  Mom and I went to urgent care got drops and Tues., Jan. 11th stayed home all day to get better.  On Thurs., Jan. 14th I turned 14th months and started to turn door knobs.  Yep, that's right I now open doors.  I cruise around until I find a door, I'm not picky, and then stay there until I figure out how to get it open.  My favorites are the lever latches or cupboard doors you just pull open.  I'm even strong enough to get the freezer and fridge open!

On Jan. 16th I even had my last bottle...I miss it a little bit but now that I'm a toddler I can handle it.  I've even begun to hang out in the Tiny Tots room (*the next room up at daycare - I'm in Sweet Peas now) and had gym time with the "big" kids.  I love it!

On Tues., Jan. 18th Dad and Mom turned my car seat forward facing!  I can finally really see out the window when we're driving and I can finally see the DVD player.  Haven't got to watch anything yet but they promised we'd try it out on our next long trip.  I hope its a Disney movie!

On Dec. 19th Mom & Dad made me try round two of no pacifier.  Granted I only use it at bedtime sometimes however  Mom & Dad thought it was time.  I tricked everyone to think I was doing well going cold turkey but today I got caught...I used my new talent of opening doors at daycare to the nap room, cruised over to the cribs (they are lower than normal ones) and reached through the bars to steal other pacifiers!  Yep, found my own pacifier since the "adults" wouldn't give me one.  The jokes on them!  I know the daycare ladies & Mom weren't suppose to laugh when they were talking about it but I saw them giggle a little bit.  Since I got caught now they are on the look out for me which makes it a little bit trickier.  I'll have to come up with a new plan; wait & see!

Happy Birthday Dad!

This past week I was a tad "naughty" at daycare although I prefer to look at it as having a little bit of fun.  On Monday, Jan. 3 I played a new game with Ms. Megan where she'd say, "No, don't pull on Shea's pretties (*her hair ribbons)" and I'd look directly at her do it again and giggle.  She'd say it again and I'd do it faster and giggle & crawl away!  Fun times!
On Thursday, Jan. 6th Mom was in Wisconsin for work so Dad and I had a dude's day.  He helped me wear my new Chinese "Hugh Hefner" vest Grandma Anne gave me for Christmas to show off to my daycare girlfriends.  They called me the cutest little Buddha.  Here's the picture we texted Mom while she was away.  Looking good!

On Friday, Jan. 7th we celebrated Dad's birthday by making him an awesome lunch.  I helped Mom make all his favorites: steak, King crab legs, cornbread and my favorite, angel food cake with lots of frosting.  Here's me with Dad and our first bites.
First big bite!
 Yummy!
All done; do I have anything on my face?
After having a quite Saturday at home on Jan. 8th we had a fun filled day on Sunday, Jan. 9th. After church we went to Mankato, MN for some shopping, a birthday dinner for Dad at his favorite, Red Lobster, and haircuts for us boys.
This time we went to Cost Cutters and Jackie cut my hair. I sat still like a big boy and did really good. Dad was pretty impressed with me and loved my new style. Can't wait to show off to the ladies at daycare tomorrow!

Here are four "after" shots after my bath.  Mom even got some pics with her phone when I was playing with Dad's computer.  I'm really good at typing!
Well, maybe not good at typing but I am having a ton of fun.  Hope you have a fun week too!

Happy New Year 2011!

This past week was awesome as I pretty much stayed home all week!  On Monday, Dec. 27th Mom took work off and we met the Grunden family in Medford, MN for lunch and outlet shopping.  I had McDonald's for the first time and had my own Happy Meal with a toy & everything!  Of course Mom brought some healthy food for me to eat too but I did get to try a couple of real french fries and they were pretty good!  I loved my hamburger & juice box too.  Here's me and my Mankato girlfriend, Katelyn, at our McDonald's lunch date:
For the rest of the week I got to stay one day with my Grandma Judy and one day with my Grandma Anne.  Didn't mind the extra attention at all!  On Thursday, Dec. 30th our good friends Alan & Sarah Meyer got into town for the weekend.  It was so much fun hanging out with them.  We all went over to our good friends the Oswald's on New Year's Eve too.  Yep, rang in the New Year with my girlfriends Ava & Addison and my pal Isaac.  Here's Dad, Mom & me ringing in the New Year!
I even got to try a little sparkling grape juice...
Awwww...that was delicious!  I won't lie the bubbles did make me a little burpy though.  Like my dino P.J.'s?
A couple of fun things I started to do over the New Year's weekend was tease Dad with the "take away" game.  Yep, I would hold something out and then when he'd reach for it take it away and giggle.  Totally a fun game and recommend others to play it.  I'm also getting better at pointing and starting to show interest in puzzles.  Overall great holiday season and an awesome New Year.  Hope you have a Happy 2011 too!
