I rolled over!

Well, I've been a busy boy since we last talked. On the 19th I went for my 4 month check-up and found out I'm 18 lb. 1 oz. and am 27 inches long. Apparently I'm in the 97 percentile but I don't feel too big. Do you ever wonder who's in the other 3%? Anyway, the afternoon I met my friend Katelyn in Mankato and we had our pictures taken with a real, live Easter bunny! He was brown, soft and sat on my lap. Mom wouldn't let me take him home though.

Then this past week my Mom & Dad went to the Black Eye Peas concert, they said it was amazing, and I had my first slumber party with Grandma Judy & Grandpa Allen. We played, cuddled and had lots of fun. Mom & Dad said they missed me lots but I didn't think it was such a big deal. I mean really, it was only one night! But I guess I missed them too.

On Friday, March 26 I rolled over for the first time. I went from my tummy to my back on my right side. Mom & Dad seemed really excited and they even applauded. I did it about 4 times for them and they tried to get me to do it more but I got kind of tired. Here's my before & after...Mom wasn't quick enough with the video camera so the regular camera pictures will have to do.

This past weekend I also went to Great Grandma and Grandpa Prestegard's. We even took a 4 generations picture with all the Prestegard men! Here we all are:

On Saturday I went to my friend Ava's house and hung out. On Sunday Mom said now that I can hold my head up real good I can play in my activity center. It is really neat. It has all this cool stuff to look at I never know where to begin. My favorite part is this ape that sings to me. I wish I could play it for you. Here's me playing.

I hope you have a happy Easter week and a very happy Easter weekend! Love, Hayden

Beware of the Home Depot!

I am all shopped out. This weekend I went with Mom and we met the Grunden's, Mike, Stacy & my girl, Katelyn, at Medford Outlet. Here’s Katelyn hitting on me…again. What can I say when you got it you got it!

I got some clothes which are ok but I got to pick out my first tool set! It is so cool and the drill even vibrates! I have a screwdriver, a saw and even a hammer. Dad seems to be just as excited as me. Here I am testing it out.

Dad, Mom and I went to the Home Depot for like 3 or what felt like 15 hours. I know my parents like that store and all but seriously they need to go to an addicts group or something. They told me it is for good cause since we’re re-doing our bathroom but it all looks the same after awhile. Too bad they didn’t bring my tool set I could have at least done something productive while I was there. I was dressed in my overalls though so at least I had that going for me! They did make it up to me when we got home because we played, read lots of books and I got a really good nap. Here’s me and Dad making faces.

I turned 4 months on Saturday. Mom says she can’t believe how quickly time has gone and how big I’ve grown. I guess I can do more things now like sit up while assisted, recognize voices and turn to look for who they belong to, put lots of stuff in my mouth, I love to stand with help, squeal with delight, and I even help turn the pages while we’re reading. Mom and Dad say they’re proud of me. I guess I go to the doctor next week so we’ll see how much I’ve grown then. Here's me at 4 months! Oh & my shirt says "No girls allowed except mom"...I don't think the ladies are listening. :)

Girl Problems!

So I was at daycare yesterday and this 6 month old girl kept rolling into me. I gave her a look to let her know I was there and since I can't roll over yet obviously I'm not going anywhere. She started to talk to me and then tried to hold my hand. Not once but multiple times! I tried to explain that I was already taken and my girlfriend would be starting daycare on Monday but she wouldn't listen. I told Dad about her and he explained that an older woman who hits on me is called a cougar and I should take it as a compliment. I'll be keeping my eye on her though to be safe.

This past weekend I got to hang out at home with Kato, Mom & Dad all weekend. It was great and very relaxing. Grandma Anne even came to visit me on Sunday and here's a picture of us playing together. I had a lot of fun and she gave me lots of hugs & kisses. I miss her already. We wish Grandpa Scott could have come but hopefully will see him soon!

Not much else is new. I've had a little bit of a cold but I am feeling better. I can't wait for the weekend to start and have more family time. I'm also excited about the warm weather. I can't wait to see my first spring. Have a fun weekend! Love, Hayden :)

Boys Night!

This past week Mom took her first overnight trip for work so Dad, Kato & I had a boys night! We read books, had bath time and got wild. Here is Kato and I playing. I must say he likes to lay around a lot. I was really worn out by the time Mom got home all I could do was sleep...
On Friday I had a play date with my girlfriend Ava (Mom & Ava's Mom Anna came too). We went out for lunch and even took our Cadillacs (strollers) out for a spin! Here's me and Ava cruising:

On my way home I stopped to check on things at our shop and hang out with Grandpa Allen, Dad & Uncle Butch.

On Saturday cousins Angie & Mark hosted a special coffee & cake for me and we even celebrated Grandma Judy's birthday! It was extra special because my cousin Hannah came home to play with me. I got to see Grandma Betty, Aunt Patty, Aunt Jenni & Uncle Kyle and cousins Phoebe & Max. Here I am with cousin Angie.

Sunday we went to church and then played at home. Mom helped me to practice riding my rocking horse from Grandpa Mark & Grandma Dawn. I'm getting better and didn't even hit my head this time! Giddy-up!
Sunday night we made monster cookies to send to Uncle Bret and I even took some to my daycare ladies. Dad said I should stay on their good side and chocolate with the ladies always helps. He always has good advice. Time for bed but hope you have a good week! XOXO Hayden

Apolo Ohno Junior!

So I had a fun week. We watched my man Apolo win more medals and Dad even helped me fashion my own dude rag like Apolo wears. Now I just need to learn to walk & skate and I'm almost there!
I went to Ash Wednesday mass and even got ashes from Father Leo. I tried to eat them but they didn't taste too good.

On Friday Mom & I went to have my 3 month pictures taken, Saturday I met the Bishop when we went to a prayer service for Dad and today we just hung out at home and played. I tried rolling over a few times but haven't made it yet...I'll keep trying though.

Hope you have a great week & I'll talk to you soon!

1st Day of Daycare!

Up & ready for my first day of daycare! I was kind of excited as you can see but I think my parents, especially Mom, were having a harder time. To help Mom miss me less Dad, Kato and I sent her cyclone roses & a plant to work. She loved it!

When I got to daycare I was greeted by my Great Aunt Jean which made the day extra special. Mom even came to visit me at lunch with some work friends, Merry & Mark and Mom got to feed me then too! They said I was a very good boy all day and that I was a pleasure. Here's me waving bye-bye to Mom with Ms. Connie, me playing with my spider friend gym and even a picture of my special basket. Can't wait to go back tomorrow :)

Happy Valentine's Day!

I had a special day with Mommy & Daddy. After church we went to Mankato to go shopping and had lunch at Red Lobster. I got a cute John Deere outfit and Daddy got some stuff at the Home Depot. Daddy even took me for my first trip to the Tractor Supply Store! Mommy didn't seem to enjoy it as much as us. :) Here is a picture of Daddy & me opening my Valentine's Day gift. It is a personalized book called "Who Loves Hayden?" I read it at bedtime with Mommy.

Happy Birthday to me!

Mailbox has a boo-boo!

So Mom & I left for our play date and saw that the plow person ran over our mailbox, again! Mom says it looks ghetto but I like the giant barrel. It looks fun to climb on some day. You'll notice we took the picture so the mailbox was right side up but it is actually laying on its side. I wonder if our mailperson gets confused?

My play date today was a lot of fun and I stayed up almost the entire time. We didn't hold hands like last time we were together but I think she's kind of shy....I'll work up to it again soon.

I read on my own today, one of my favorite books, "Just like Daddy!" and sat up all by myself!

Week of February 7, 2010

I've had a BIG week! On Sun., Feb. 7th I began to hold my own bottle without help. On Mon., Feb. 8th I slept all night in my own room in my crib. I think Mom & Dad kept checking on me but I slept through the night and Mom says I did great. On Wed., Feb. 10th I went to visit Dad & Grandpa Allen at the shop (*my future place of employment) and had a great time. Grandpa and I visited and he gave me a grand tour. I saw lots of John Deere tractors which would make Grandma Anne proud and even a New Holland which Grandpa said is actually an "old" Holland. I'm not sure how old though.

Today I have a date with my girlfriend Ava Oswald and this weekend Mom & Dad are taking me to Mankato for a Valentine's Day Family dinner. I'll let you know how they go so keep checking in.
