On Friday, November 25, 2011, in the very early hours of the morning Mom said she started feeling some irregular contractions and by 8:00 a.m. they became increasingly more consistent. Mom & baby had their scheduled weekly appointment at 10:30 a.m. so Mom thought it best to be prepared & pack my bag for Grandma & Grandpa's house and her/baby's for the hospital just in case. I had already planned to go to Grandma & Grandpa's house during the appointment to play with Cousin Hannah and now just potentially staying a bit longer. Mom asked Dad to go with her to the appointment and even though this is 3 weeks early & everyone thought a false alarm Dr. Morris said the baby is on its way! By the time of the appointment Mom was dilated to a 3 and 50% effaced (*wasn't dilated at all last week) so Dr. Morris felt the baby would be coming today. Around 11:45 a.m. Dr. Morris sent Mom & Dad home until contractions were 5 minutes apart and so they left to run some errands and stopped to visit me before my nap.
By 1:45 p.m. Mom felt that the contractions were about 6 to 5 minutes apart so they got ready to head back to the hospital and arrived & checked in about 3:00 p.m. When they checked in they were already dilated to a 4 and 75% effaced so things seemed to be progressing well. Mom felt that things were moving quickly, like with my birth, so asked for drugs right away. They tried calling someone back to the hospital to administer them however by 4:15 p.m. he still hadn't arrived and Mom was now at a 10 and 90% effaced which meant it was too late for drugs anyway. By 4:30 p.m. they were paging Dr. Morris as the baby was ready and by 4:35 p.m. Dr. Morris said ok to push and by 4:46 p.m. my little brother, Hudson Allen, was here! Hudson weighed 9 lb. 5 oz. and was 21 1/4 inches long. His head and chest was 14 and Dad said everything about him was perfect and healthy! Here are some pictures of my little brother Dad shared with me so I could share with you. Here's Hudson with Dr. Morris checking him over:
Dr. Morris was the same doctor who delivered me and first comment about Hudson was from Dr. Morris who thought he resembled me a little!

The Delivery Team: Nurse Jennifer, Dr. Morris, Hudson, Mom & Dad:
Interesting fact is that Mom delivered Hudson in the room where I was delivered! After delivery they were moved to Mom & Hudson's room 238 which was also the same room Mom & I were in! Only one other baby was born the same day as Hudson, just before at 3 p.m., and was a girl. During Hudson's stay only 3 babies total were in the nursery, two girls and Hudson. The nurses joked Hudson could have his pick and they all thought Hudson was adorable and a very good baby!
Welcome Hudson Allen we're so excited to have you join our family!
We love you!
